Aylmer Police say a quick response and coordinated search effort led to the safe recovery of a missing child Thursday morning.
Officers were called around 9:15 a.m. on June 19 after an 8-year-old failed to arrive at school, despite leaving home several hours earlier.
Police immediately responded, gathering information and launching an extensive search.
Within 43 minutes of the initial call, officers located the child on Holland Avenue. Investigators say the child had become lost.
“Having an ability to respond within minutes and having a search established by our team so quickly resulted in this favourable outcome,” said Deputy Chief Chris Johnson. “This is a fortunate benefit of having a local, municipal police service that can respond quickly when it matters.”
The youth was returned home safely.
