Prolific OHL defenseman Cameron Reid was the 21st pick Friday night in the NHL draft, selected by the Nashville Predators.
The Aylmer native netted 14 goals and 40 assists in 67 games this past season with the OHL Kitchener Rangers.
He was an important cog in the Kitchener power-play and sixth overall in power-play assist among OHL defenders.
The Predators traded their 23rd and 67th overall picks to Ottawa for their 21st pick overall. Reid was predicted to be snapped up in the first round.
At 6 feet and 190 pounds he is typically described as being on the smaller side. What really stands out, however, is his smooth skating skills.
