One of Elgin County’s most beloved summer traditions is back for its 26th year on Wednesday as the annual Seniors Picnic in the Park takes over Pinafore from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Main Pavilion will once again be filled with song and smiling faces notes committee member Geoff Rae, as they get set for a day of music, conversation, and good old-fashioned camaraderie.
In addition, attendees can explore the classic car show, food options, and a wide range of community and wellness booths.
Rae, Owner of Boomers & Beyond Magazine and longtime participant, says the event is a chance to not only enjoy a relaxing day outdoors but also connect with others across the region.
A couple of new draws this year notes Rae, is that attendees will receive an exclusive coupon page inside their complementary “swag bag.” Plus, those requiring transportation to Pinafore Park can utilize free Railway City Transit.
Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, a reusable bottle for the water refill stations, and a bit of cash for lunch and treats.
Presented by Nurse Next Door, the event is made possible thanks to support from the City of St. Thomas, County of Elgin, and sponsors including Boomers & Beyond, Royal Oak, Studio Arts Rock School, and Simply Pure Water.
Rae says it’s a day about joy, laughter, and community spirit—and the committee is so thankful for all who came together to keep the event going.
The event is rain or shine, so remember to plan ahead.
