The Municipality of Central Elgin is inviting local community groups and non-profit organizations to apply for support through a brand-new Community Grant and Sponsorship Program, with applications now open until August 15.
The initiative offers financial and in-kind support to projects and programs that benefit residents, promote inclusivity, and strengthen the social, cultural, and economic wellbeing of the municipality.
For 2025, Council has approved a total of $50,000 to support the program. Mayor Andrew Sloan noted “by investing in local non-profit groups, we’re investing in the heart of our community and supporting the projects, programs and initiatives that bring people together and help build a stronger, more connected municipality.”
The program offers three types of support:
- Grants (up to $5,000): One-time financial support for specific projects that benefit the broader community.
- Sponsorships (up to $5,000): Operational support or funding for capacity-building and community-based activities.
- In-Kind Contributions (up to $2,000): Non-monetary support such as access to municipal facilities, equipment, or staff time.
All applications will be reviewed based on available municipal resources, the potential benefit to the community, financial impact, and alignment with the Municipality’s values of inclusivity and community wellbeing.
A full report outlining eligible applications will be presented to Council in September, when final funding decisions will be made.
Application guidelines and full eligibility criteria are available on the Municipality’s website.
All submissions must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025.
