A 34-year-old Quebec resident is facing impaired driving charges after being stopped by St. Thomas Police Wednesday night.
Officers on community patrol observed a vehicle being driven erratically and initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the driver, officers suspected impairment and administered a roadside screening device, which registered a fail.
The driver was taken to police headquarters for further testing, which revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 190 mg/100 ml — more than twice the legal limit.
The individual was charged with Operation While Impaired – Plus 80 and released with a future court date.
