The OPP is reminding the public to stay safe out on the water following a spike in marine incidents across Ontario.
And it’s an extra timely message as National Drowning Prevention Week runs through July 26th.
That was Sgt. Ed Sanchuk with the West Region OPP.
He says a lifejackets is a must.
Sanchuk adds that there is also some planning you need to do before getting out on the water.
The Safe Boating Guide is available through Transport Canada and should be reviewed ahead of every outing.
