A 23-year-old is facing a series of criminal charges after fleeing from police following an erratic driving complaint on Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation.
Just after 1:30 p.m. on July 23rd, officers from the Oneida Nation Police Service, Middlesex County OPP, and Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police responded to reports of a vehicle being driven dangerously through the community.
Police located the vehicle on Iroquois Road, where the driver fled on foot. A brief foot chase ensued before the suspect was taken into custody.
Jeremiah Doxtator, who has no fixed address, now faces multiple Criminal Code charges, including:
- Dangerous operation
- Flight from a peace officer
- Operation while prohibited
- Operation while impaired by drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with a demand
- Failure to comply with a release order
- Doxtator was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police are reminding the public to report suspicious activity or suspected impaired driving immediately to local authorities.
