The St. Thomas Fire Department responded to multiple 911 calls Saturday night after a residential fire broke out on Malakoff Street.
Firefighters arrived on scene around 9:30 p.m. to find the home fully engulfed.
All occupants had safely exited the residence before crews arrived.
Due to the intensity of the fire and hot, humid conditions, a full callback of off-duty personnel was issued.
The blaze was brought under control quickly, thanks to a coordinated effort between first responders. Medavie EMS remained on standby, Victim Services Elgin provided support to the displaced residents, and St. Thomas Police assisted with traffic control at the scene.
Officials say the fire is not believed to be suspicious, but the investigation into its cause is ongoing.
