It was a weekend of smiles, sportsmanship, and connection as St. Thomas played host to the 5th annual Challenger Baseball Friendship Games, welcoming teams from Peterborough, London, and Hamilton.
The event, held at the Doug Tarry Sports Complex, gave athletes of all abilities the chance to come together for a day of baseball and fun—something organizer Sean Lawson says goes far beyond the diamond.
The Challenger Baseball program is designed to create inclusive opportunities while offering a safe and encouraging space to play. And for Lawson, organizing the Friendship Games each year is truly a labour of love.
They also work alongside the Jays Care Foundation, which helps provide funding and support to the 150 Challenger baseball teams across Canada.
