Elgin OPP are investigating a series of mischief occurrences being classified as hate-motivated.
It began with OPP responding to an Argyle residence in West Lorne just after 9 a.m. on June 14.
Two tires had been damaged on the resident’s vehicle.
Since then there have been three more incidents involving damage to the same vehicle on Argyle Street.
On July 7, just after 3:30 a.m., the vehicle sustained a broken taillight and a broken passenger door mirror.
Just after 2 a.m. on July 19, the vehicle sustained three damaged tires.
And on July 24, around 1:30 a.m. the vehicle sustained damage to both rear tires and was spray painted.
The OPP Crime Unit is investigating the reported hate/bias-motivated crime and the OPP’s Hate Crime Extremism Unit has been engaged.
