The 8U St. Thomas Cardinals are getting national recognition for their perseverance, progress, and team spirit, having just been named “Team of the Week” by the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
The Cardinals have proven themselves to be true underdogs: after winning just five games in the 2024 season, the young team returned this year with all eight underage players ready to learn, grow, and take their game to the next level. And it’s working!
The team has already exceeded last season’s record, making it all the way to the semi-finals in their first tournament of 2025—having never progressed out of the preliminary rounds in the previous year. They’re now sitting in first place in their division, driven by positive attitudes, hard work, and support from coaches and parents.
The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame says the Cardinals are an inspiring example of resilience and teamwork.
