A 34-year-old St. Thomas resident is facing charges after police were called to a disturbance in the downtown core Tuesday morning.
Officers responded to an address off Talbot Street around 11:15 a.m. following reports of a person yelling and threatening people in the area. While attempting to deescalate the situation, the individual allegedly tried to strike an officer.
The accused was taken into custody and charged with causing a disturbance and assaulting a peace officer.
They were transported to police headquarters for processing and later remanded into custody pending a court appearance.
