The St. Thomas Police Service is once again rallying the community to support local students as they gear up for another school year.
The 2025 Back to School, School Supply Drive takes place Tuesday, August 12 at the St. Thomas Walmart (1063 Talbot Street) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with officers and community partners on site collecting new school supplies for students in need.
Samantha Wakefield, Corporate Communications Coordinator with the St. Thomas Police Service, explains why support for this event is so important each year.
The drive is once again being hosted in partnership with Doug Tarry Homes and Geerlinks Home Hardware — all working together to help fill backpacks with school essentials. Wakefield breaks down just some of the items they’re hoping to collect Tuesday.
All donations will be distributed to elementary schools across St. Thomas during the final week of August — ensuring supplies reach teachers and students before the first day back.
Anyone doing their regular shopping, or simply wanting to support the cause, is encouraged to stop by and donate.
