A 12-year-old St. Thomas youth is facing charges after police responded to a disturbance on the city’s south side Wednesday evening.
Officers were called just before 8 p.m. for reports of a child being assaulted. An investigation determined that the youth had physically assaulted a younger child and threatened nearby adults.
The youth was arrested and charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act with assault, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats.
They were transported to police headquarters, processed, and released on an undertaking with a future court date.
