One of Ontario’s longest-running traditions is back this weekend as the Tillsonburg Fair celebrates its 171st year.
Taking place August 15 to 17 at the Tillsonburg Fairgrounds (45 Hardy Avenue), this year’s event promises something for everyone — from agricultural exhibits and midway rides to live music, demolition derbies, and more.
Friday Night Highlights: Opening ceremonies kick things off, followed by the Special Olympics vs. First Responders challenge and Mini Tractor Pullers. Gate hours are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., with midway rides and homecraft exhibits open all evening. Live music will be provided by The Copper Mug.
Saturday Features: A full slate of family events includes the Baby Show, Pet Show, and appearances by Captain Corbin, Batman, and Lightning McQueen. The midway runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the Demolition Derby roars to life in the evening. Don’t miss the ice cream eating contest, Power Wheels races, and Kids Zone fun.
Sunday Events: Sunday wraps the weekend with another Demolition Derby, more Batman appearances, and extended homecraft exhibits and midway fun from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
As always, the fair continues to highlight local agriculture through 4H Showmanship and livestock shows, while also celebrating homecraft talents like quilting, preserves, and baking. Visitors can explore exhibition halls and support local artisans and competitors.
Admission is $10 for those 11+, $5 for kids ages 6-10, and free for children under 5.
Gate Hours:
- Friday: 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Sunday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
