A 19-year-old St. Thomas resident is facing several charges after police say they breached court-ordered release conditions and made threats toward an ex-partner.
Police were called Monday night after reports of unwanted communication, where investigators learned the accused had been attempting to contact their former partner despite being under conditions not to do so.
Through further investigation, officers were made aware of several threats that had been made by the 19-year-old and discovered they were not complying with a court-ordered curfew.
The accused has been charged with failure to comply with a release order, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, mischief, and extortion.
They were arrested during a traffic stop early Tuesday morning and held in custody pending a court appearance.
