As a result of cooler temperatures and rain over the weekend, the fire ban in effect for the city and Elgin County has been lifted.
All burn permits are now reinstated, and new permits may once again be issued where applicable.
For St. Thomas residents, make sure you are compliant with the city bylaw dealing with fires.
The fire service reminds residents to not leave any backyard fire unattended and fire pits must be 15 feet from any structure, property line or trees.
