St. Thomas Police say a 45-year-old man is facing new charges after being stopped for suspected impaired driving within the city.
Police were alerted by a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver and located the vehicle shortly after. While speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment and Standard Field Sobriety Test was conducted, resulting in a fail.
He was arrested and taken to the station, where further testing determined that he was impaired by drug.
Investigators later learned the driver was already suspended, stemming from another impaired charge laid less than a month earlier.
The St. Thomas man has been released with a future court date.
