Southwestern Public Health is asking for the community’s help in identifying a dog involved in a bite incident in St. Thomas.
The incident in question happened September 1st, around 6:45 p.m. near Lake Margaret Trail.
The dog is described as a large, light-grey female Pitbull.
The owners are believed to be a woman with long dark hair, wearing dark pants and a dark shirt, and a man wearing a hat, possibly blue in colour.
Officials stress the owners are not in any trouble. The goal is to confirm the dog’s vaccination status to assess the risk of rabies exposure for the individual who was bitten.
Anyone with information is asked to call Southwestern Public Health at 1-800-922-0096 and ask to speak with a Public Health Inspector.
