Tailgate Fitness is starting a new chapter this fall, with Port Stanley resident Emily McNaughton stepping in as the gym’s new owner.
McNaughton first joined Tailgate as a new mom and says the welcoming environment inspired her to keep showing up — and ultimately to take over when she learned the business was closing.
Classes at Tailgate Fitness follow a circuit-style format explains McNaughton, with short, high-energy workouts scheduled throughout the day.
McNaughton says one of the gym’s biggest draws is the flexibility for parents to bring their children along, something she valued when she first started.
With the move to her family’s property in Port Stanley at 37218 Scotch Line, McNaughton is also adding new offerings at Tailgate Fitness. This includes teen fitness classes, chair fitness sessions, and one-to-one personal training, creating more options for current and future “Tailgaters.”
Adding that her background as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist has helped her create inclusive, supportive workouts for all ages and ability levels.
A grand opening workout for the new location is set for Saturday, September 13 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a space reveal and community celebration.
McNaughton adds that she’s most excited to share the energy and sense of connection that has made Tailgate Fitness so meaningful to her.
