A known prolific property crime offender has again been arrested by St. Thomas police.
The 30-year-old man was identified as the suspect seen on Myrtle Street at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday attempting to enter vehicles.
He was located in possession of stolen property and a number of small knives.
As a result, David Hamilton has been charged with four counts of failing to comply with probation orders and one count of trespass by night.
Additional charges were laid when he was processed at police headquarters and identified as the person responsible for a vehicle entry on Sept. 7.
He was charged with five counts of failing to comply with probation orders and one count of theft under $5,000. He was remanded into custody.
Police have obtained several items of stolen property as a result of the arrest and are asking residents who live in the encompassing blocks of Ross Street to Wellington Street, to First Avenue, to Chestnut Street, and back to Ross Street, to contact police at 519-631-1224, x4321 to collect any property you may be missing as result of a vehicle entry or someone on your property.
