The St. Thomas Habitat for Humanity ReStore is marking a major milestone this weekend with its 10th anniversary celebration.
Manager Katherine Geen says for those unfamiliar with the ReStore, it’s much more than a secondhand shop.
Habitat’s overall mission is to ensure that every family has a safe and affordable place to live. In addition to building homes, Geen notes the organization has expanded to help with other local initiatives as well.
As they prepare to celebrate 10 years in business, a special anniversary sale has been planned on Saturday, September 20th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The day will feature 50 percent off almost everything in the store, a community barbecue starting at 11, cake, and special guests. Local dignitaries, including representatives from the city of St. Thomas and MPP Rob Flack, are expected to attend.
Geen adds that the ReStore has seen incredible support over the past decade, and the team is excited to continue to work with the community for years to come.
Residents are encouraged to drop by the ReStore, shop, donate, and learn more about Habitat for Humanity’s mission. The ReStore is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 280 Edward Street.
