A 27-year-old West Elgin resident is facing multiple charges following an incident on the northside of St. Thomas Monday afternoon.
Police say they were called to a residence at around 1:30 p.m. for a report of an assault in progress. Investigators determined the accused attended the home, confronted the victim, and a physical altercation ensued.
During the incident, a knife was presented, resulting in injuries that required hospital treatment.
The accused, who is known to the victim, had left the scene before police arrived. Authorities have since issued a warrant for their arrest on charges of assault, assault with a weapon, and theft under $5,000.
The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Thomas Police Service.
