The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL), home to the St. Thomas Stars, is entering an exciting new chapter. Beginning with the 2025–26 season, the league will begin a phased transition to its new identity: the Greater Ontario Hockey League (GOHL).
This rebrand marks a significant milestone, as the GOHL will officially become the first development league affiliated with the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Over the course of the season, teams, digital platforms, and league events will adopt the new GOHL name and branding.
Home to 23 teams across the province — 12 in the Western Conference and 11 in the Eastern Conference — the GOHL features a 50-game regular season culminating in the prestigious Sutherland Cup Finals. The enhanced OHL–GOHL partnership will open the door to new collaborative opportunities, including showcase events connected to the Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game.
While the name and alignment may be changing, the league’s core values remain firmly in place. The GOHL continues to prioritize academic excellence, character development, and strong community ties — all in service of its enduring mission: to create meaningful opportunities for young hockey players to grow and thrive in the game they love.
