A 31-year-old St. Thomas man faces more than a dozen charges related to property thefts and vehicle entries over the past week.
On Tuesday of this week, St. Thomas Police found Eric Cloutier at a residence in the city’s north end. He is known to police and wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Officers recovered a significant number of suspected stolen items. Investigators believe he is responsible for or suspected to be involved in upward of 18 separate incidents reported to police last month.
As a result, Cloutier has been charged with:
- Seven counts of breach of recognizance
- Four counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Two counts of use of credit card
- One count of break and enter a dwelling house – commit indictable offence
- One count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Cloutier was held for a court appearance and has been remanded into custody.
The St. Thomas Police Service continues to encourage residents to secure their vehicles and property and to promptly report any suspicious activity to police.
