A 42-year-old St. Thomas resident has been arrested in connection with an assault that occurred early Wednesday morning.
St. Thomas Police say officers were made aware of the incident shortly after 5 a.m. while on an unrelated call. CCTV footage captured the assault, and through investigation, police identified the suspect, who had left the area before officers arrived.
The individual was located later that evening around 10:15 p.m. and taken to police headquarters. A search revealed a flick knife, a folding knife, and suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and hydromorphone.
In addition to assault with a weapon, the individual faces multiple charges, including:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Fail to comply with a probation order
- Breach of recognizance
- Three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance
The suspect was held for a morning court appearance.
