A St. Thomas student is facing charges after police responded to reports of a suspected firearm at a local secondary school earlier this week.
Police say on October 6, officers were called after a student allegedly showed a classmate what appeared to be a firearm inside a backpack and made a threat toward another student who wasn’t present.
Investigators later determined the weapon was a replica pistol-style BB gun, which was recovered by police.
Following the investigation, the student was charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and has been released with a future court date.
