A long-standing chapter in local early childhood support is set to see a transition at the end of this year.
Community Living Elgin will conclude its role as the East Zone Lead for EarlyON Child and Family Centre programs effective December 31, 2025, after more than 20 years of serving families across St. Thomas and Elgin County.
The organization has played a key role in early learning and family support through the Ontario Early Years Centres and EarlyON network, offering spaces for families to learn, play, and connect.
“Over the past two decades, Community Living Elgin has been a trusted partner in supporting children and families across St. Thomas and Elgin County,” said Teresa Sulowski, Manager of Children’s Services with St. Thomas–Elgin Social Services. “Their leadership in early years programming has created welcoming spaces where families could learn, connect, and thrive together.”
Beginning in 2026, Tiny Tots Co-Operative Nursery School of Aldborough Inc.—currently the EarlyON provider for Dutton Dunwich and West Elgin—will take on program delivery in the East Zone as well.
Heather Sheridan, Director of St. Thomas–Elgin Social Services, added that Community Living Elgin’s “long-standing commitment to families has strengthened the foundation of early learning in our community,” expressing gratitude for their years of care and collaboration.
Officials say the transition will be seamless, ensuring continuity for families who rely on EarlyON programming.
