St. Thomas is getting ready for one of its most popular fall traditions as the Downtown Pumpkin Prowl returns Friday, October 24th, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Now in its 7th year, the event continues to grow tremendously, thanks to the support of local businesses and community partners.
Sarah Lynch, Downtown Development and Engagement Officer with the St. Thomas Economic Development Corporation, explains what will be taking place this Friday night down Talbot Street.
With attendance for this local event now topping a thousand people, organizers have added a temporary road closure on Talbot Street between Ross and Elgin this year, in order to keep families safe.
Last year nearly 90 local businesses handed out treats to costumed kids and families, and participation is expected to be similar this year. Lynch notes that the Pumpkin Prowl Passport is now available to download, which outlines all the stops along the way.
And as Lynch shares, the St. Thomas Stars are once again taking part.
The fun doesn’t stop there — families can also enter the costume contest by tagging the St. Thomas Downtown Development Board (DDB) on social media, for the chance to win some Downtown Dollars.
Lynch adds that the Pumpkin Prowl is a celebration of local business spirit — and a reminder to keep supporting those downtown shops long after the candy is gone.
