One of hockey’s greatest defencemen will be in St. Thomas this January as Stanley Cup Champion Ray Bourque headlines the 2026 St. Thomas Sports Spectacular, presented by Hydro One.
The five-time Norris Trophy winner and Hockey Hall of Famer leads a growing lineup of sports icons confirmed for the annual charity gala, taking place January 22, 2026, at the St. Anne’s Centre.
Adding to the excitement, the Calder and Norris Trophies from the Hockey Hall of Fame will be on site for fan photos with Bourque.
Other headtable guests announced so far include:
- Rick Mahorn, Detroit Pistons legend
- Fred Ottman (Tugboat/Typhoon), WWE Hall of Famer
- Yvon Barrette, who played Denis Lemieux in Slap Shot
- Natasha “The Nightmare” Spence, WBA International Boxing Champion
The event will once again be hosted by Toronto Star podcaster and columnist Mike Wilner, who returns as emcee for another year.
Since 1978, the St. Thomas Sports Spectacular has raised more than $1 million in support of Special Olympics and Community Living Elgin, drawing major sports figures to the city while celebrating community spirit and inclusion.
“For almost 50 years, this inspirational event has offered support to local Special Olympics and Community Living, while remaining one of the best nights out in St. Thomas,” said event chairperson Sean Dyke. “2026 will be the best one yet.”
Tickets for the 2026 Sports Spectacular go on sale Monday, November 3, at stthomassportsspectacular.com.
Sponsorship opportunities also remain available.
