For the second time in 18 months, the Municipality of Central Elgin is on the hunt for a CAO.
In a media release Friday (Nov. 14), the municipality announced Carey Herd is departing to fill the same role with the City of Vernon, B.C.
Herd assumed the CAO role with Central Elgin on May 13 of last year.
Mayor Andrew Sloan noted, “While Carey’s departure is disappointing, we benefitted enormously from the innovative and authentic leadership she brought to the municipality. Her dedication and hard work resulted in significant progress on strategic priorities and major community initiatives, leaving a lasting impact on how we serve our residents.”
Herd advised, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to have served this incredible community. Central Elgin has made real strides, advancing long-term plans and delivering on issues that matter most to residents.”
According to the Vernon, B.C. web page, Herd will assume her duties there on Dec. 1.
