The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police have laid multiple charges after an alleged assault on a police officer earlier this week.
According to investigators, officers were at the hospital around 9:05 p.m. on Monday, December 1, when an incident occurred involving the accused. A 35-year-old London resident has since been charged with disarming a peace officer and two counts of assaulting a peace officer.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear by video in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Friday, December 5.
OPP say the individual’s name is being withheld due to court-imposed restrictions.
