No one was injured following an explosion Friday morning at a Bayham residence.
Just after 10:30 a.m , emergency crews responded to 9238 Sandytown Line after a neighbour reported an explosion.
Bayham Fire Chief Harry Baranik noted firefighters from Port Burwell and Straffordville stations searched the scene and contacted the owner, who indicated he had just purchased the property and the house was vacant.
Baranik confirmed the house was completely destroyed.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating as is the Technical Standards and Safety Authority because the residence was heated with propane.
Sandytown Line was temporarily closed between Stewart Road and Maple Grove Line.
