Team Canada has announced its 2026 World Junior training camp roster, as 27 players head to Niagara Falls with hopes of representing their country.
Among them is Aylmer’s own Cameron Reid, current captain of the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers. With 27 games played so far this season, Reid sits at an impressive 28 points with 9 goals and 19 assists. The prolific defenseman was the 21st pick in the 2025 NHL draft, selected by the Nashville Predators.
The Canada World Junior camp invitees are headlined by Gavin McKenna, who is the favourite to go first overall in the 2026 NHL draft. There are 19 first-round picks on the roster, with London Knights Head Coach Dale Hunter behind the bench for Canada.
The roster features three players skating in the NHL this season in Calgary Flames defenceman Zayne Parekh, San Jose Sharks forward Michael Misa, and Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Harrison Brunicke.
Training camp will be held at the Gale Centre in Niagara Falls starting this Saturday, until a full roster is named on December 22nd. Canada will also play pre-tournament matchups against Sweden on December 17th and 20th in Kitchener and London, before taking on Denmark on December 23rd in Minnesota.
The tournament officially kicks off on Boxing Day, when Canada will take on Czechia.
