A 42-year-old St. Thomas man has been charged with several offences after falling asleep in his car.
Just after 6 on Tuesday evening, city police were called about a possible impaired motorist.
The driver appeared to have passed out with the vehicle still running.
Officers woke the individual and had concerns he was impaired. A standard field sobriety test was conducted and he was arrested for impaired operation.
Further investigation revealed he had provided false identification and the vehicle had been reported stolen.
He was additionally charged with obstruct a peace officer, 2 counts of failure to comply with probation, and possession of property obtained by crime.
He was later released on an undertaking with a future court.
