With the season of giving upon us, Jim Hogan, President and CEO of the city’s utility provider, Entegrus, visited the city last week bearing gifts.
The first stop for Hogan was the Ignite Youth Centre on Talbot Street and the perfect opportunity to illustrate how Entegrus gives back to the communities that it serves.
In this case, an $18,000 much-needed gift for the drop-in centre for local youth.
Hogan noted, “We have some dollars that we give out throughout the year.”
However at year-end, a little more input is sought.
Jodi Annett-Kish, Executive Director of the Ignite Youth Centre tells myFM what the funds will be used for.
After a stop at The INN, the city’s emergency shelter, Hogan dropped by the YWCA with a cheque for $20,000, earmarked for Project Tiny Hope’s Adopt-A-Home-Furnishing the Future Campaign.
With the funds, the YWCA will be able to furnish three units with brand new furniture and appliances so that all the comforts of home will welcome the next residents during their spring move-ins.
