FCC is contributing $1.5 million through its AgriSpirit Fund to support 81 community projects across Canada, with three initiatives locally sharing more than $40,000 to strengthen essential services, emergency response, and local food production.
The INN St. Thomas–Elgin is receiving $17,000 to upgrade kitchen equipment, helping the organization sustain and expand its daily meal program for individuals experiencing homelessness or precarious living situations in the region.
The Town of Aylmer Fire Department has been awarded $12,000 to purchase an intrinsically safe, water-powered fan. The specialized equipment will enhance firefighter safety during emergency responses involving flammable gas environments.
Meanwhile, Kakwhu’a:Kwe Original Foods in the Oneida Nation of the Thames is receiving $15,000 to build an irrigation system and farm structures, improving efficiency and supporting the growth of local Indigenous food production.
FCC says each AgriSpirit Fund project reflects communities coming together to address local needs. Over the past 22 years, the fund has invested $24 million into nearly 1,800 projects nationwide, helping rural and smaller communities build stronger, safer, and more resilient futures.
