The City of St. Thomas advises it is aware of reports of dead and sick birds in the community, including in parks and stormwater management ponds.
City staff are working with federal, provincial, and local partners to monitor the situation and respond as appropriate.
As a precaution, residents are reminded to avoid contact with deceased or sick birds and to keep children and pets away from dead animals.
Any sightings of sick or deceased birds should be reported to the city at 519-631-0210.
