Exciting news for local hockey fans as Canada unveils its men’s roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics
Rodney native and current New York Islander, Bo Horvat, has been named to Hockey Canada’s men’s team for the upcoming Winter Games in Milan-Cortina.
Horvat joins stars including Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, and Brad Marchand.
Horvat is one of six players on the Olympic team who did not compete at the 4 Nations Face-Off in February, along with Macklin Celebrini, Tom Wilson, Darcy Kuemper, and Logan Thompson.
This marks the first time NHL players will represent Canada at the Olympics since 2014.
Team Canada, placed in Group A, opens against Czechia on Feb. 12, then faces Switzerland on Feb. 13 and France on Feb. 15. The tournament features three preliminary games per team, with quarterfinals determined by group winners and top second-place teams.
