An Aylmer man is facing impaired driving-related charges after Oxford OPP received a call for service regarding a traffic hazard.
Around 5 a.m. New Year’s Day, police responded to Oxford Road 29 after reports of a motorist interfering with traffic.
Officers located the vehicle and 29-year-old Spencer Ashford has been charged with impaired operation and the following:
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80-plus)
· Drive motor vehicle – not equipped with ignition interlock device
· Novice driver – blood alcohol concentratio above zero
· Class G1 licence holder – drive at unlawful hour
· Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
His licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on February 10.
