Perhaps you have admired his paintings and sculptures or enjoyed musical performances with his band Jumbo Train.
Well now, Dennis Kalichuk is putting it all together with his one-person show, The Circus of Life.
An intimate, positive look at the world around us through his original music, comedy, poetry and inspiring stories from personal experiences.
Kalichuk explains how the multi-media presentation evolved over time.
Kalichuk believes the evening will take on the feel of a party among friends which led to him calling it The Circus of Life,
Kalichuk teases that the presentation is a bit of an emotional roller-coaster, presented as part concert, part stand-up comedy and part reflective storytelling.
While The Circus of Life is a highly personal presentation, Kalichuk feels the audience will truly find it relateable.
Comedy may be a large pivot for Kalichuk, however he recounts an early taste of the stand-up genre.
There are those in St. Thomas who will remember Kalichuk as the person who delivered their mail, which was all part of the inspirational process behind his songwriting.
With The Circus of Life, Kalichuk enthuses, “I’m planning on diving into the deep end with a lot of verve.”
The Circus of Life debuts Jan. 31 at the Princess Avenue Playhouse. Doors open at 7 p.m., show time is 7:30 p.m.
