The much-anticipated YWCA Women’s Day fundraiser is returning to the St. Thomas Seniors’ Centre on March 7th, bringing together individuals from across the community for a day focused on education, empowerment, and connection.
The annual event will once again feature a light breakfast, three workshops of participants’ choosing, and a guest speaker during the provided lunch.
For those who haven’t attended in the past, Melissa Kempf, Communications Manager with YWCA St. Thomas–Elgin, explains what attendees can expect.
The day will get underway at 9 a.m., starting with breakfast provided by Metcalfe Gardens Retirement Residence, followed by the first round of workshops.
This year’s guest speaker is Mary Lou Smoke, Elder-in-Residence at the Wampum Learning Lodge at Western University. She will share her culture and Traditional Teachings through storytelling and traditional drumming songs.
Tickets for the YWCA Women’s Day fundraiser are on sale now, with organizers encouraging those interested to register early to secure their preferred workshops.
