West Region OPP are reminding visitors to make safety their top priority ahead of this Friday’s popular Friday the 13th gathering in Port Dover.
While winter events typically draw smaller crowds than summer motorcycle rallies, police say an increase in both vehicle and pedestrian traffic is still expected, particularly in the downtown core.
Officers will maintain a visible presence throughout the day, with a focus on traffic safety and public awareness.
Motorists are encouraged to monitor weather and road conditions closely, as winter driving hazards remain a concern.
OPP are reminding drivers and riders to:
-
Drive sober
-
Obey speed limits
-
Adjust speed for weather conditions
-
Maintain safe following distances
-
Avoid distractions
-
Use proper safety gear
Police say if travel conditions worsen, arriving late is always better than risking unsafe driving.
Anyone witnessing suspicious activity is asked to contact OPP or Crime Stoppers.
