The City of St. Thomas is inviting residents to share their feedback on several upcoming development proposals.
Public Meetings have been scheduled for Monday, March 9, 2026, at 6 p.m. at City Hall, with a Zoom option available for those who wish to attend virtually.
Here’s a look at the proposals under consideration:
Centre Street: An application has been submitted to amend Zoning By-law 50-88 to allow the construction of two townhouse blocks and one stacked townhouse block, totaling 24 residential units. The project would include site-specific zoning provisions to support the development.
Warehouse Street: Council will review a Zoning By-law Amendment linked to a Draft Plan of Subdivision, which would create 12 new residential lots along Warehouse Street. The proposal includes semi-detached homes and fourplex dwellings, along with a stormwater management block.
417 Wellington Street (Elgin Centre): Applications for concurrent Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments have been submitted to permit a kennel and pet grooming business at this location. If approved, the use would be restricted to fully indoor operations with size limits recommended by staff.
