Two St. Thomas men are facing charges after a suspicious incident near the pathway and railway tracks on Ross Street.
St. Thomas police say officers were alerted to the situation and, upon arrival, located two men inside a sewer after a manhole cover had been removed.
Investigators allege the accused were in the process of removing wiring and pieces of metal when police arrived on scene.
Both men have been charged with theft under $5,000. They were released on appearance notices and are scheduled to attend court at a later date.
Police say the tools used to open the manhole cover and remove the wiring were seized as part of the investigation.
