A St. Thomas high school has received national recognition and funding to support its robotics program.
St. Joseph’s Catholic High School has been named one of six recipients across the country in the 2025 Teen Tech Teams initiative, part of Best Buy Canada’s Teen Tech for Tomorrow program.
The school’s robotics team received a $5,000 grant, along with an Alienware gaming laptop provided in partnership with Dell.
The Teen Tech Teams initiative supports high school robotics programs by helping remove financial barriers and expanding access to advanced technology.
Since 2008, Best Buy Canada has awarded more than $4 million in grants to Canadian public schools. The company says the Teen Tech for Tomorrow program aims to level the playing field for students in Grades 8 through 12 by increasing access to technology and training.
Best Buy Canada says the winning schools and teams were chosen for demonstrating creativity, resilience, and a strong commitment to innovation.
