Health Canada is warning consumers about a recall of the PureVolt Photoelectric Smoke Detector, model SD119-4, after tests showed it may not work properly in the presence of smoke.
The product is intended for indoor use and can be mounted on ceilings or walls.
The recall was issued because the smoke detector does not have a recognized Canadian certification mark.
This means it may not meet Canadian safety standards and could fail to alert users in case of a fire, posing a potential hazard. As of February 13, 2026, no injuries or incidents have been reported in Canada.
Consumers who own this product are advised to stop using it immediately and return it to Addison Électronique for a refund.
For more information, Addison Électronique can be reached by phone at 514-376-1740, extension 304, or by email at info@addison-electronique.com
