It took the last outing of a 50-game schedule, however the St. Thomas Stars grabbed the final Greater Ontario Hockey League playoff berth Saturday night.
The Stars blanked Sarnia 5-0 Saturday night to secure eighth spot in the Western Conference, edging out Waterloo.
The opening round of the playoffs begins this week with St. Thomas facing Chatham.
The best-of-seven playoff schedule has not been released at this time.
