A stretch of Woodworth Avenue is now closed to through traffic as a major infrastructure project gets underway in the city.
According to the City of St. Thomas, the closure took effect Monday between the Highway 3 Expressway and South Edgeware Road.
The construction project includes replacing deep sewer and watermain infrastructure, along with roadwork in the area.
City officials say the work is expected to continue through August.
Local traffic and emergency access will still be permitted throughout construction, but motorists travelling through the area are encouraged to plan alternate routes while the work is underway.
More information about the project can be found here.
