A local organization is inviting community groups and residents to come together later this month and help build a more inclusive future for St. Thomas-Elgin.
The Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario is hosting a leadership summit titled “Come Grow With Us,” taking place Friday, March 27th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the CASO Station.
myFM sat down with Co-Executive Director Amanda Zavitz, who says the event is designed to bring organizations across St. Thomas and Elgin County together to share ideas around equity and inclusion.
The summit, themed “Growing Equitable Communities,” will feature a mix of discussions and feel more like a leadership summit than a traditional vendor-style event.
As part of the event, attendees will also be introduced to the coalition’s Anti-Sexist Toolkit, with opportunities to provide feedback and discuss shared challenges facing the community.
The event is free to attend, with lunch and refreshments provided by local businesses.
Those interested in attending can learn more and register online here.
